Free Nursing Care

The Free Nursing Care Team at Waverley House is now fully established, Jane Towler, Lead Nurse and Belinda Hill (the team’s sister) now have a full compliment of staff to undertake Registered Nursing Care Contribution determinations across North Somerset PCT.

The Free Nursing Care’s background stems from the NHS plan of July 2000 with an objective that Registered Nursing care should be free of charge to its recipients regardless of whether this is delivered within the realms of hospital, community or long term settings.

In order to facilitate this process the Free Nursing Care team, using determination tools, follow on from the holistic principles of the single assessment process. Taking into account existing care plans, previous and current care provisions and the needs of the individual person, an accurate determination of the full range of Registered Nursing needs can be identified. It is with this security that individuals are able to have their health needs met in the most applicable and accurate setting or placement.

It is an exciting time for the Free Nursing Care team; newly brought together we are managing, monitoring, budgeting and auditing our performance as well as meeting the many new developments as they come our way. We will rise to the challenge!
