authorisation
NHS North Somerset Clinical
Commissioning Group (CCG) has been
authorised
by the NHS Commissioning Board. Dr Mary Backhouse has been
formally confirmed as the Clinical Accountable Officer.

Somerset's NCT and it's Community Partnership join forces to
help beat the UK's single biggest killer
North Somerset’s PCT and its Community Partnership really saw red last week when staff sported scarlet in aid of this year’s British Heart Foundation (BHF) ‘Rock up in Red’ Day , the charity’s fundraising campaign which encourages people across the UK to think about their hearts and raise money to save lives. Staff from both organisations raised £390 by wearing red and holding a raffle to help kick off National Heart Month on 1st February.

NHS North Somerset announce demolition of former Kwik Save building
Demolition work of the former Kwik Save building on the Millcross site in Clevedon will begin early next week (w/c 4 February) 2013, NHS North Somerset is able to announce today. The demolition of the buildings will take around four weeks and help the local NHS to save £54,000 in annual maintenance and security cost and improve the outlook for local residents.

Pregnant women urged to get
vaccinated as whopping cough cases continue to rise
Local health chiefs are urging pregnant women to get
vaccinated and protect themselves and their unborn babies, as cases of
whooping cough across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
continue to rise. And parents
were also urged to ensure that their children were also vaccinated against
whooping cough on time, even the babies of women who had received the
vaccination during pregnancy.
