Smokefree North Somerset is an alliance working together to promote smokefree living, tackle illicit tobacco and reduce the harm caused by smoking across North Somerset .
The Smokefree North Somerset Alliance has been in existence since 2005 and was relaunched in July 2010. Smoke free North Somerset is led by representatives from NHS North Somerset, Weston Area Health NHS Trust, North Somerset Council (Environmental Health, Trading Standards), Avon Fire & Rescue Services and voluntary groups.

The Alliance works hard at raising awareness of the dangers of tobacco smoke exposure, particularly to babies, young children and vulnerable adults. The Alliance supports initiatives to reduce underage and illicit sales of tobacco products in North Somerset.
Working directly with North Somerset Stop Smoking Service (NHS), Smokefree North Somerset is able to direct smokers who would like help to quit smoking towards the best support and advice.
In July at it’s relaunch the Alliance held an Inequalities Event and updated the Smokefree Action Plan. Following this event the Alliance signed up to an online collaboration resource which is used to keep members briefed with latest evidence and news and to update actions.
