Stopping Smoking

 

We can help you to:

• Get local support while you quit.
• Make a personal plan to stop smoking.
• Set a quit date.
• Deal with cravings.
• Know about Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and get it on prescription.
• Know about Varenicline (Champix) and Bupropion (Zyban) and get this on prescription.
• Stay stopped.

Getting help to stop smoking really does help! 50% of smokers who come to us for help are able to stop smoking for four weeks or more.

You can:

• Visit your GP practice. You should be able to get an appointment with their support to stop smoking advisor
• Many local chemists can now give you support to stop smoking. Call into one of the pharmacies listed below to make an appointment
• Come to our Drop-In session. You can come without an appointment, see an advisor and get your NRT (patches, gum, inhalator etc) while you are there.

Health Trainers at Health Central

Health Trainers offer support on a wide range of health issues including smoking.  For all health issues, a drop in service is offered on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 12.00-2.00pm.  Alternatively, please telephone 01934 627250 for a chat or to arrange an appointment outside of these times.
