ChlamydiaThe Chlamydia Screening Programme is a national initiative aimed at testing people for Chlamydia. Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection in the UK. You don't need to have had lots of sexual partners to be at risk. The National Chlamydia Screening Programme has discovered that up to one in ten young people who have had a test are infected. |
|
Many people do not know they have the infection as there are often no symptoms. If left untreated, Chlamydia can spread to other parts of the body and can cause long term health problems, such as pain and infertility. The infection can be easily treated with antibiotics.
If you are 15- 25 years old and want to find out whether you have Chlamydia, you can take a confidential and pain free test. You do not have to be examined.
Either:
If you are sexually active and between 15 and 25 years old please take this opportunity to ensure that you stay healthy now and into the future.
