What is Sexual Health?

Good sexual health is about being confident and in control and also about keeping ourselves and our partner(s) safe. It includes reducing our risk of getting sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and having contraception that suits us.

There are many places in North Somerset you can go to get help and advice on all issues relating to your sexual well being whatever your age, however a useful starting place can be your GP or Sexwise 0800 282930 or log on to www.nhs.uk/worthtalkingabout/ where you will find lots of information, tools and advice and also use your postcode to find out the closest services to where you live.

If you just want a chlamydia test you can get one for free from www.freetest.me or by calling the chlamydia screening team on 0845 180 0050.

General Practitioners (GP’s)
Your GP can provide you with support and advice on a wide range of sexual health issues including contraception, free chlamydia screening and testing for a wide range of other sexually transmitted infections.
